What Yayasan Anak Unik Offers to Students
Children with Special Needs
We provide an individualized education program tailored to the unique needs of students with social or mental limitations. Our devoted teachers use customized teaching methods and tools to help children learn academic, social, and life skills. We create a nurturing environment where students feel safe and supported. This approach focuses on each student's strengths, interests, and learning styles. We empower children to gain confidence and independence through lessons adapted to their capabilities. Our goal is to prepare students to transition to further schooling and activities.
Teenagers and Young Adults
We run programs to support their social development and integration into society. We provide them with knowledge and training in skills that will enable them to find work or contribute to society. Our teachers assist students in gaining work experience through volunteering and collaborations with the local community. We organize community activities to practice social skills. Our support helps teens and young adults with social or intellectual disabilities gain their place as active, contributing members of society.
Educating the Family
Our work extends beyond the classroom. We actively educate each student's family to reinforce lessons and encourage growth at home. Our approach empowers families to support positive behaviors so our students can thrive in the real world. We work with each student's close family to provide training and resources to ensure students get the support they need both in and out of school. Our commitment to educating families enables us to promote the all-around development of each student. Besides educating the family, we also educate teachers from other schools to learn and introduce them to Anak Unik. We also share Anak Unik's books which contain basic information about Mental Disabled Students.

Special Projects By Us
Voice Project Photo Exhibit
In collaboration with Eastern Washington University, this exhibit has our students using cameras to take pictures that tell the stories of their lives. The photos give a peek into their interests and dreams. Come see the world through their eyes! The students are excited to share their stories with you through creative images. We hope you'll come and get to know these amazing students!
World Inclusive Dance Association (WIDA)
As a member of the World Inclusive Dance Association (WIDA), We provide students opportunities to express creativity and build social skills through dance. Dancing helps improve coordination, balance, and self-confidence. By participating in WIDA events, our students gain rehabilitation benefits while creating artistic connections. We support WIDA's mission of building an inclusive community through dance.
Teaching Cooking Skills
We teach essential life skills like cooking to equip students for everyday life. Our cooking classes allow students to gain practical abilities in a supportive environment. By learning how to follow recipes, use kitchen tools safely, and prepare simple meals, students develop confidence in their daily living skills. Our customized approach enables each student to cook dishes at their own pace. Teaching cooking empowers our students to live more independently.
Providing Education to Parents
We host ongoing training event for parents to support our students' development. We provide detailed reports on each student's progress so families understand their needs. We encourage parents and siblings to embrace the student's unique abilities and accept their behaviors and personality. Our training focuses on teaching families how to reinforce lessons at home to foster growth for students with limitations. By educating families, we promote the all-around development of each student.
